How ironic!
This is a helpful explanation of the use of irony.
Is it A or An?
Use a before a word that starts with a consonant; use an before a word that starts with a vowel. Unsure of what a vowel or a consonant is? Let me demonstrate. Consonants are all the letters in the alphabet that are not vowels: B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W, X, Y, Z. Remember that Y doubles as both a consonant and a vowel, like in the word yellow and the word key. Vowels, if you haven't figured this out already are A, E, I, O, U, and sometimes Y. I did this for the benefit of English learners. I was not being condescending with English speakers.
